September 30th B & T embarked on an adventure to Greece! Our first stop was Athens of course because you can’t go to Greece and not stop in Athens. While September 30th may seem like an arbitrary date it was purposeful in my planning. If you know anything about Europe than you know the summer time is the busiest season for places like Greece. I did NOT want to encounter those crowds. So I pushed this trip as far out as possible so that we could avoid crowds but still get the full experience. Did that mean that some things like the Restaurant in the Sky were closed.. yes but did that also mean that the streets of Mykonos and Santorini weren’t packed like sardines, YES! I’ll take that any day of the week.

So first stop Athens! In a word, a history lesson one you can only appreciate in person. Seeing the size and height of the columns of the pantheon up close is magnificent. Our guide Johanna was captivating, filled with knowledge she told us story after story about how events came to pass and where current pieces are to date.

We ended our nights with of course NIGHTLIFE! There is no shortage of things to do in Athens so find a place and get to it and if you don’t like the vibe… switch, and we did!

We then took to the islands via ferry. It should be noted when on a trip like this it’s best to pack as light as possible as much as possible. Try to keep as one checked bag and a roller bag that is mostly empty this way you know you have room for any souvenirs that you may purchase. Getting transport via ferry can be a bit cumbersome so you don’t want to be lugging a bunch of heavy suitcases while you are traveling.

Island stop number one was Mykonos. In the case of both Mykonos and Santorini I was most surprised by the nightlife. I was fully prepared to have a more international music filled party but it felt like I was partying at home! Our tour in Mykonos was a day at sea and unfortunately the sea was quite rocky and overall it was unseasonably chilly but everyone was troopers and we made the best out of it. We weren’t able to snorkel and enjoy the ocean but were able to explore the island of Delos and learn its historical contributions to the Greeks. Even though the day was chilly we turned up the heat partying the night away.

Second island stop was Santorini. This was my favorite hotel, El Greco. It is the largest hotel on the island and is within walking distance to the pedestrian center in Fira. In Santorini we had the pleasure of starting the day out with a flying dress shoot with Breecia who looked like absolute royalty in her purple dress. We then went on to do an Oia city tour and wine tasting with our farewell dinner during sunset. It was a perfect way to end our day. Of course it goes without saying we experience nightlife in Santorini. We randomly went into a small bar called 2 Brothers and ended up experiencing one of the best DJs I’ve heard in a long time. This is one of the things I love about traveling most. It’s the random yet unforgettable nights that turn into incredible memories that I cherish most.

I can’t wait until May 2023 when we embark on Greece yet again, will you be joining us. If you are interested make sure to reach out!
